Juvéderm VOLBELLA XC
Juvéderm VOLBELLA® adds subtle volume to lips, softens the appearance of vertical lip lines, and is the first and only filler proven to last up to a year for lips and vertical lip lines. Lines such as these are often caused by factors such as sun exposure or repeated muscle movement. It may also be used to fill pitted acne scarring in the face. Unlike other fillers, Juvéderm VOLBELLA® blends different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid, which allows it to create subtle volume that lasts for up to a year.
How Does Juvéderm VOLBELLA Work?
Juvéderm VOLBELLA® is applied with a fine needle to the lips and perioral rhytids. Juvéderm VOLBELLA contains lidocaine as well, a numbing medicine, to help with discomfort. There is minimal recovery time so you can return to you regular activities the same day. For your first visit be prepared to answer questions about your medical history, including any medication you may be taking or allergies you may have. Judy will examine your skin and measure the depth of your wrinkles or folds to better discuss the level of treatment that is appropriate for you individually.
Are There Do's & Don'ts?
A week before your procedure, it is recommended that you avoid taking aspirin and other anti-inflammatory drugs which thin the blood. This will reduce the risk of bruising at the injection site. It is suggested that you avoid strenuous physical activities, excessive sun/heat exposure as well, or consumption of alcohol for the first 24 hours post injection. No makeup, as able, post injection for at least 12 hours. This will help reduce the chance of infection. Possible side effects include redness, itching, swelling or bumps to the area of injection. These reactions are usually mild to moderate and resolve within a week. Bruising can happen with facial injections. If you have an important event, I recommend the injections be completed 4 weeks ahead of the event. This gives you time to resolve any bruising, gives the filler time to settle and also time for any tweaks as needed. Ice is great for any swelling after injections.

Yes, you can combine fillers and other injectable treatments. Combining Juvederm with Botox, Kybella or other fillers is fine. You would want to wait 7-10 days for any facial massage or microneedling. You would want to wait several weeks for any type of laser to the area injected.
Lidocaine cream will be applied to the area of treatment. Ice can also be used as well. Lidocaine dental blocks offered for lip injections.
It is a scheduled appointment time of 60 minutes. If you are wanting to treat multiple areas please call Judy so that additional treatment time can be added.
Injecting filler is done with a needle or a blunt tip cannula. You may develop swelling, redness and bruising after injections. Judy will give you post-injection filler instructions. Ice is recommended for any swelling. You may return to your normal activities after having injections.
